Stop Hating on the Jews Already

Judaism emphasizes a covenantal relationship with God through observance of commandments, faith, repentance, and ethical behavior (Deut. 7:9; Mic. 6:8). Their error is not that this relationship must exist. They are correct—a covenantal relationship IS the requirement of God (Ex. 19:5-6; Jer. 31:31-34). Their error is that they dont yet see that keeping this covenant of works requires a mediator—Jesus Christ (1 Tim. 2:5; Heb. 9:15; Heb. 12:24).

As Christians, we are in fact saved by works…. Christ’s works (Rom. 5:19; 2 Cor. 5:21; Phil. 3:9). Their problem is not emphasis on the covenant. Their problem is that without Jesus, they are out of the covenant even as the Gentiles who turn to Jesus are adopted children of the covenant (John 14:6; Eph. 2:12-13; Rom. 8:15; Eph. 1:5). The Jew becomes a broken off branch while the Gentile often becomes an ingrafted one (Rom. 11:17-18). If the Jew’s find Jesus, the road back to God will be swift and sure and natural. Its easy to graft natural branches back in (Rom. 11:23-24). They already have the law and the prophets (Rom. 3:1-2; Luke 24:27; Acts 26:22-23).

People need to stop hating on the Jews.

They are a wayward older brother currently making shipwreck of their spiritual lives. Until they find Messiah Jesus, they will never fulfill the covenant and find God again. Love them back into the kingdom. Show them Jesus by your actions, not your disdain.
